London – December 17, 2013 – London Stock Exchange listed Kazakhstan Kagazy plc (the “Company” or “Kagazy”), Central Asia’s largest producer of paper, corrugated board and packaging, and a leading operator of commercial warehousing and industrial infrastructure facilities in Central Asia, has announced the results of its Annual General Meeting, which was held today in London.
London – December 17, 2013 – London Stock Exchange listed Kazakhstan Kagazy plc (the “Company” or “Kagazy”), Central Asia’s largest producer of paper, corrugated board and packaging, and a leading operator of commercial warehousing and industrial infrastructure facilities in Central Asia, has announced the results of its Annual General Meeting, which was held today in London.
The following resolutions were unanimously approved:
- To accept the recommendation of the Directors for the non-payment of a dividend following the results of 2012;
- To receive and adopt the report of the Directors and the audited accounts of the Company for the year ending 31 December 2012 together with the report of the auditors on those audited accounts;
- To approve the re-appointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as auditors of the Company for 2013 and 2014, and to authorise the Directors to fix the remuneration of the auditors;
- To accept the proposed re-election of Martin Quirke as a director of the Company;
- To accept the appointment of Sir Tony Baldry as a director of the Company; and
- To accept the appointment of Sarosh Zaiwalla as a director of the Company.
The Company’s Chairman, Sir Tony Baldry, commented:
“It is important that the Company has retained the full support of its shareholders. While the business in Kazakhstan has recently been placed under unjustified pressure by Almaty regional authorities, we are confident that these actions will not derail the London High Court proceedings. We now look forward to making a further contribution to the sustainable development of Kazakhstan’s economy in 2014.”
