    Through its Kagazy Recycling subsidiary the Kazakhstan Kagazy Group is the largest paper packaging and recycling group in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

    Kagazy Recycling - a subsidiary of the Kazakhstan Kagazy Group – produces paper, cardboard, and corrugated packaging out of recycled waste paper. It has been successfully operating on the paper market since 2001. Currently Kagazy Recycling is the leader in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, measured both in production volumes and by the quality of its product range.

    Our paper operations are vertically integrated and cover the whole production cycle: we collect our own waste paper out of which we produce paper and then corrugated products that are sold to our clients.

    Kagazy Recycling is the only company in Kazakhstan, which has a network of waste paper collection points throughout the country. Every year our company collects and recycles approximately 50 thousand tons of waste paper and saves around 500 thousand mature trees from deforestation.

    Kagazy Recycling is therefore a truly green company, one of its kind in the industrial sector in Kazakhstan. It is the first company in Kazakhstan and Central Asia to have been certified by the International Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) as environmentally friendly. FSC has certified that the raw materials used by our company in its vertically integrated production cycle comply, at all stages, with the highest environmental standards according to international practice.

    • Our Business

      Kazakhstan Kagazy is a group of companies listed on the London Stock Exchange (“the Group”). Founded in 2001, it is the largest manufacturer of paper and corrugated packaging from recycled paper in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

      The Group consists of three companies: Kazakhstan Kagazy JSC, a holding company, Kagazy Recycling LLP, a manufacturer of paper and corrugated packaging, and Kazakhstan Waste Recycling LLP, a company collecting and sorting waste paper. These companies are actively engaged in environmental protection and waste management – two major parts of the “green” policy pursued by Kazakhstan – and have created more than 700 jobs.

      Kagazy Recycling is the largest waste paper recycling company and manufacturer of paper and corrugated cardboard packaging in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Its market share exceeds 70% in Almaty and the Almaty Oblast and 50% in Kazakhstan as a whole. This proves its position as a leader in the paper products sector.

      Since its establishment in 2001, Kagazy Recycling has been successfully producing a wide range of corrugated paper, cardboard and packaging for various products. The company’s services include: selection of corrugated cardboard, design and graphics of packaging, palletization patterns and optimum transportation methods for products.

      The main company’s advantage in paper market is a high-tech equipment manufactured by leading producers of Germany, France, Sweden and Switzerland, combined with the best recycled fibre practices from Eastern Europe.

      Kazakhstan Waste Recycling is one of the leaders in collection and sorting of waste paper and other recyclable materials in Kazakhstan; it is the only local company that has waste paper collection points all over the country and partners in several cities in Russia.

      The company collects more than 50,000 tonnes of waste paper annually, thus saving about 500,000 mature trees or 10 square kilometres of forests. Kazakhstan Waste Recycling collects used newspapers, books, magazines, leaflets, Tetra Pak cartons, flat and corrugated cardboard (boxes) and plastic bottles.

    • Information for bondholders

      Kazakhstan Kagazy JSC, a member of Kazakhstan Kagazy Group, has made several issuances of short and long term bonds in the local capital market. Bonds have been admitted for trading in Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE).

      In 2009 Kazakhstan Kagazy JSC defaulted on its bond and other debt obligations. Immediately afterwards, the company began to restructure its debt obligations.

      As a result of restructuring, the company’s bonds were readmitted for trading in KASE in April 2011.
